The story
Two slackers competing for the affections of an heiress inadvertently become her protectors from an evil criminal.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated studio colour with the flat, even lighting of mid-1990s Bollywood: sunlit Mumbai-adjacent villas, garish interiors in pinks and turquoises, and a sprawling country mansion where sets look deliberately theatrical. The camera mostly sits still and frames two or three people in wide, busy compositions so the physical gags can play out in full. Sound is a cheerful mix of bouncy film songs, slide-whistle stings and broad comic music cues, with plenty of exaggerated sound effects. The vibe is silly, warm and irreverent, a good weekend-afternoon comedy for when you want to laugh at nonsense without thinking. Pacing is loose and episodic, built on running jokes, misunderstandings and deadpan asides rather than tension, and the emotional register stays light: two lovestruck goofballs trade one-upmanship over a woman who sees right through them. Intensity is low; there is some slapstick, mock fighting and a few villainous threats, but no real gore and nothing frightening. It suits anyone who wants a gentle, affectionate parody with big personalities and a fond eye on romantic comedy clichés.
