The story
The best way to fit in at a new school? Start a band! Anon has just transferred to Haneoka Girls’ Academy where girl bands are all the rage. But she started school late, so there aren’t many girls left to recruit. Then she meets her first friend and Haneoka’s misfit, Tomori, who’s hesitant to join. Still, Anon is determined to persuade Tomori and experience the true power of friendship and music.
What it’s like
Bright school corridors give way to hazy, grainy closeups and sudden flashes of saturated color, so the look shifts between everyday pastel and something rawer and more unsettled. The music carries much of the mood: loud, unpolished rock that sounds closer to a cramped live room than a studio, with long stretches of quiet rehearsal and a few stripped-back moments that hit hard. The vibe is bittersweet, awkward, and earnest, with a current of emotional strain running beneath the cheerful surface. It suits a Saturday afternoon, a late-night watch when you want something with bite, or a binge that rewards paying attention to the faces. Intensity is low on physical content: no violence or gore, and sexual content is absent. The emotional scenes can be heavy, with friendships tested and anxiety rising to the surface. The series is for viewers who like school-life stories where the friendships feel fragile and the music is the emotional core, and who don't mind a show that's willing to get uncomfortable.
