The story
Bunty and Babli are two young people who randomly meet each other after running away from their homes to chase their dream. After facing hurdles in their path they decide to take up conning and soon become the best con artists in the country. However, their success is threatened as a relentless cop is on their trail.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated color and busy street life: crowded markets, sun-washed small towns, and a glossy Bollywood polish throughout. The camera moves with energy, and the music punctuates the con-artist scheming with bouncy, upbeat song-and-dance numbers that break the rhythm into cheerful bursts. The vibe is breezy and mischievous, a sunny caper with a light, flirtatious romance at its core and a playful cat-and-mouse edge when a determined police officer closes in. Its tone is warm and comic. Violence is minimal and mostly played for laughs, with some scuffles and chase energy but no gore, and the romance stays affectionate rather than sexual. The arc follows two restless, reckless young people who learn to trust each other and grow up a little along the way. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or a group movie night. It is for people who want a fun, music-filled, low-stakes crime comedy with charm, color, and a crowd-pleasing rhythm.
