The story

Insulted by Rosario, a rich businessman, Jai Kishen a Matchmaker teaches him a lesson by getting his daughter married to Raju, a Coolie, who poses to be a millionaire. They sense something fishy and Raju's deceptions are discovered. In an attempt to cover it up, he cooks up a story of having a filthy rich twin. One lie leads to another and things start to go awry culminating in a comedy of errors.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated studio colour with sunlit Goa beaches, crowded Mumbai streets and glossy wedding-hall interiors, shot in a busy, mobile style: quick zooms, whip pans and frequent cuts timed to slapstick beats rather than long quiet moments. The look is candy-bright and deliberately overdressed, with bold costumes, garish sets and a constant hum of Hindi film music, bouncy dance numbers and pratfall sound effects. Vibe: brash, warm, cheerfully chaotic. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a comfort rewatch with friends, or something to keep on while cooking or folding laundry, since the plot can be followed in pieces. Pacing is fast and farcical, with escalating misunderstandings and physical comedy that keep returning to the same running gags. Emotionally it stays light: a scheming young man grows fond of the family he is deceiving, and the story leans on romance and mistaken identity rather than real stakes. Intensity is low. There is some slapstick falls and mild peril, a few brawls played for laughs, and no gore or sexual content. It is for people who want loud, silly, feel-good Bollywood comedy that asks nothing of them.
