The story
Devil May Cry 5 is a brand-new entry in the legendary over-the-top action series Devil May Cry. The game features three playable characters, each with a radically different stylish combat play style as they take on the city overrun with demons. Developed with Capcom’s in-house proprietary RE engine, the series continues to achieve new heights in fidelity with graphics that utilize photorealistic character designs and stunning lighting and environmental effects.

Saturated, theatrical action rendered in glossy photorealistic detail: rain-slick streets under a dim, bruised sky, crimson and gold light flaring off demon flesh and gunmetal, and sudden blooms of white-hot sparks as blades meet hellspawn. The camera hangs close behind its heroes and swoops through long, unbroken combat sequences, so the screen feels like a stage where choreography is the main event. The soundtrack is driven by hard rock and heavy electronic beats that swell with every combo, while cutscenes slip into quieter, wry banter over comic-book panels. The vibe is swaggering, adrenaline-fuelled and cheeky, with a self-aware streak that keeps the grandiosity playful. It suits a late-night session when you want to feel powerful, or a weekend binge with friends who will cheer each flashy finisher. Violence is constant and stylised: demons are sliced, shattered and dismembered in bursts of ichor and gore, with frequent loud, intense set-pieces and boss fights, but little lingering cruelty or sexual content.
