The story

Dishonored is an immersive first-person action game that casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. With Dishonored’s flexible combat system, creatively eliminate your targets as you combine the supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.

What it’s like

Rain-slick rooftops under bruised, smoky skies, with whale-oil lamps throwing warm amber pools into deep shadow and the pale glow of blue-violet magic cutting through the murk. The palette is grimy and baroque: brass pipes, soot-stained stone, gaslit streets crowded with masks and plague carts, all rendered in a painterly first-person view that makes every rooftop and sewer a place to read for light and sightlines. The score is sparse strings and low drones, with long stretches of ambient rain and distant bells, so footsteps and the rustle of a guard's patrol carry real weight. Pacing is deliberate: sneak, watch, wait, then move in a sudden burst of blink-and-strike. The vibe is brooding, tense, and quietly theatrical, a dystopian steampunk city that rewards patience and a steady hand. Violence is frequent and can be bloody, with executions, body horror from the plague and sudden deaths, though a non-lethal path exists and much of the tension comes from dread rather than gore. For players who want stealth puzzles, moral choice that visibly reshapes the city, and a moody, slow-burn revenge story told through atmosphere.
