The story
There is nothing Joe wouldn't do for his wife. But as they try to save their marriage with a romantic getaway, things go from bad to worse, and from worse... to insanity. In this tale of love, madness and murder - Joe will prove what kind of man he is. But what kind of man is he exactly? A loving husband? A cold realist? A bitter skeptic? That is something YOU will decide, as you join him on his journey for redemption...
What it’s like
Dim, cluttered rooms and a slow, deliberate pace set the mood of this point-and-click adventure, where the point-and-click rhythm of examining objects, collecting things and testing small hunches keeps you lingering in each space. The vibe is uneasy and claustrophobic, a marriage souring under the strain of a getaway that refuses to stay pleasant, with flashbacks that sharpen the sense of something wrong being slowly uncovered. The emotional register runs from tender to bitter to unhinged, and the arc follows a man whose devotion and self-justification steadily curdle. Expect violence, murder and disturbing imagery, with the horror resting more on mounting dread and psychological unravelling than on constant action. The experience suits a solo late-night session with headphones on, and it is for players who enjoy story-driven horror, moral ambiguity and the slow pull of a mystery they assemble themselves. It is not gentle, and it is not a comfort play.
