The story
Each death has its visage. How will you face them? Visage is a first-person psychological horror game. Explore a mysterious ever-changing house in a slow-paced, atmospheric world that combines both uncannily comforting and horrifyingly realistic environments, and enjoy a genuinely terrifying experience.
What it’s like
Dim, decaying domestic interiors lit by flickering candles, lamps and the grey wash of windows, with a palette of sepia, bruised purple and sickly yellow that makes familiar rooms feel subtly wrong. The first-person camera drifts slowly through hallways and kitchens, pausing on objects and doorways that shift and rearrange, and the low-poly-leaning textures give the house a tactile, dollhouse-like unreality. Sound does much of the work: long stretches of creaking timber, distant footsteps, muffled rain and sudden stings of dissonant music that vanish into silence. The mood is unsettling and melancholic, a slow dread that builds through puzzles and exploration rather than jump scares, though the horror turns sharp and frightening in its ghostly encounters. Violence is implied and grim rather than gory, with ghostly apparitions and disturbing imagery more than blood. It suits a late night alone with headphones on, or a cold, quiet evening when you want to be slowly unnerved. Best for players who enjoy atmospheric psychological horror, puzzle-solving at a deliberate pace, and eerie storytelling about death and grief.
