The story

Cooler has resurrected himself as a robot and is enslaving the people of New Namek. Goku and the gang must help.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated cel animation with hard outlines and flat, bold colour: alien skies in lurid pinks and oranges, gleaming metallic robot plating, sharp flashes of energy blasts lighting up barren rocky ground. The camera is restless in the fight scenes, cutting fast and swooping through canyons, while quieter moments hold on simple framings of the cast talking in rooms and open terrain. The score is brass-heavy and percussive, with synth stings and heroic swells that drive every confrontation, and the voice cast's big, expressive shouting gives the battles their momentum. Vibe: loud, earnest, and bombastic, the kind of thing to put on for a Saturday-morning-style burst of energy. Intensity is high in a cartoon register: sustained punching, ki blasts, and shattering destruction, with blood largely absent and the menace stylised rather than grim. Pacing is episodic and escalating, building toward long power-up sequences and face-offs. The emotional core is a band of old friends rallying to protect strangers, with the villain's cold arrogance giving way to a brutal rematch. It suits fans of shonen action who want spectacle, sci-fi setting, and tournament-style fights.
