The story

A reunion between two estranged sisters gets cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.

What it’s like

Claustrophobic and relentless: cramped apartment interiors bathed in sickly amber and cold fluorescent green, a city of concrete and dust outside the cracked windows, and a camera that rarely sits still, swooping through stairwells, lunging in tight handheld close-ups and tracking through elevator shafts and dim corridors. The palette is grimy and oversaturated, with blood rendered in bright, glossy reds that dominate the frame, and the sound design leans on wet tearing, groaning floorboards and a brassy, pounding score that spikes whenever something moves in the dark. The vibe is grimy, frantic dread with a gallows humour running underneath, the kind of watch that suits a late night alone or a loud weekend with friends who like their horror messy. Pacing is punchy and nonstop after a slow, bitter opening, and the emotional core is a fractured sister bond forced back together under impossible pressure. Intensity is high: heavy, graphic gore, frequent body horror, child peril and brutal violence, with plenty of screaming and dread throughout. It is not gentle. It is for viewers who want visceral, gleefully excessive horror with a hard edge of family rot.
