The story
Fight Night Round 4 is a boxing video game developed by EA Sports. It is the sequel to Fight Night Round 3, released in 2006. It was released on June 25, 2009 in North America and on June 26, 2009 in Europe, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.[3] The game's featured boxers are Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.[4] It contains 48 licensed boxers[5] as well as several new modes, such as Legacy mode.[6][7]
What it’s like
Hard, bright arena lighting over sweat-slick polygon boxers, with spotlights pooling on the canvas and crowd noise swelling and dropping like surf. Its look is glossy and close-up: face-mapped likenesses of real fighters, faces streaked with sweat and cuts that open and bleed in slow-motion replays, while the camera swings tight around the clinch and pulls back for the ring-wide view between rounds. The soundtrack is driven by hard rock and hip-hop, and the thud of gloves and the ring-bell cut through it. Vibe: adrenaline-charged, showy and brutal, a sweaty Saturday-night fight card rather than a quiet afternoon. Intensity is high: frequent and graphic bloodshed, heavy punishing hits and knockouts, with no sexual content and no supernatural horror. Pacing is fast in the exchanges and slower in the replays and career menus, where a boxer's rise is traced through training, title shots and rivalries. Suited to players who want a sport-sim with real-world legends, a late-night challenge session, or a multiplayer bout with friends, and for anyone who enjoys the theatre of boxing more than its story.
