The story

A porn star is hired by a dashing intelligence officer as a 'honey-trap' for a dreaded assassin. She not only has to confront her bitter-sweet past, but is also forced to make an impossible choice - one that will put her own life in jeopardy.

What it’s like

Jism 2 is lit in the saturated, after-dark palette of Mumbai and Thailand: hotel suites washed in deep reds and amber lamp glow, rain-slick streets reflecting neon, and sweaty, close-framed interiors that feel humid and crowded with desire. The camera lingers on bodies and faces in tight, handheld intimacy, cutting between candlelit seduction scenes and cooler, bluish surveillance-style shots of waiting rooms and parked cars. The score leans on moody synth pulses and swelling romantic strings, with thumping club beats punctuating the danger. The vibe is sultry and tense, a late-night noir with erotic heat and a sense of things about to go wrong. Pacing is brisk in the chase and deliberately slow in the sex scenes, which are explicit and extended, with nudity and simulated sex throughout. Violence is present and sudden, including shootings and a few brutal fight beats, with some gore and a constant undercurrent of threat. The emotional register is melodramatic, centring on a woman split between her compromised past and a chance at self-determination, and on the men who manipulate her. Suited to viewers who want a steamy, stylish thriller with grit, not gentle viewing.
