The story
Once beaten, but not destroyed, the evil Shogun Kunitoki used all his mystic powers to transport himself through time and establish a new empire of tyranny in modern day Manhattan. Only you can stop him!
What it’s like
Chunky isometric sprites drift across tiled floors in a blocky, early-home-computer palette, with flat primary colours, chequered stone, and the hard edges of 8-bit pixel art giving every room a cramped, toy-box quality. The soundtrack is a looping chiptune with sharp percussive stabs, and the constant sense of pressure comes from its stiff, deliberate jumps and weapon swings rather than from any sweeping camera move. Its mood is brisk and slightly stubborn: a retro, puzzle-heavy adventure where the pleasure lies in learning each room's layout and timing one leap at a time, with pauses spent frowning at a tricky jump rather than racing through it. Combat is stylised martial-arts fighting against mostly anonymous henchmen, with cartoonish hits and no gore, so the intensity is moderate and mechanical, more frustration than fear. It suits a slow evening at a desk, a nostalgic session with a cup of tea, or a stretch of trial-and-error puzzling. It is for players who enjoy old-school challenge, stubborn trial-and-error, and the satisfaction of cracking a difficult screen after many attempts.
