The story
In LittleBigPlanet for PlayStationVita, join Sackboy on a completely new adventure, filled with exploration and competition.
What it’s like
Bright, handmade and cheerful, with everything built from burlap, felt, cardboard and stitched fabric under warm, saturated daylight. Levels sit inside storybook dioramas of rolling meadows, sunlit workshops and tilted fairground sets, and the camera drifts smoothly behind Sackboy as he hops, grabs and swings through them. The soundscape is a playful mix of bouncy orchestral cues, chirpy bleeps and the squeaks and clatters of physical objects, with the Vita's touchscreen used for nudging, pulling and drawing tools into the world. Vibe-wise it is warm, busy and upbeat, with a low-stakes, toy-box charm that suits a lazy afternoon, a commute, or a co-op session with a friend on the couch. The pace is brisk but forgiving, with short levels, generous checkpoints and a steady stream of collectibles to chase, and the emotional register stays light and encouraging throughout. Intensity is very low: there is no gore, no sexual content and no real cruelty, only mild peril from falls and hazards that send Sackboy back to the start. It is made for players who want a gentle, creative platformer they can dip into alone or share with someone, whether they are longtime fans or newcomers to the series.
