The story

Mafia Mobster Gangs have taken the control of all the cities in the world. It's time for you and granny to make your own Mafia family. Hire the best mobsters and show who is the boss! Mafiozo is a multiplayer turn-based strategy game, narrating a course of events when Mafia groups seized control of different city districts.

What it’s like

Flat, bright mobile-game art rather than gritty noir: cartoonish mobsters on a city-block map with saturated primary colours, cards fanned across the bottom of the screen, and a loose, cheerful menace in its character portraits. Sound is light and punchy, with bouncy stings for card plays, short sound effects and a chirpy looping soundtrack that stays in the background. The vibe is playful, lightly comic crime, a little silly and easy to pick up. It suits a short commute, a lunch break or a few rounds while waiting for something else, and it moves in quick bursts: you play a card, watch the turn resolve, then wait on an opponent. Violence is cartoonish and bloodless, all card-based clashes and district takeovers with no gore, and the tone never gets grim. People who want a tactical, competitive turn-based game with friends or strangers, without a heavy story or dark atmosphere, will find it easy to settle into.
