The story

Compilation pack including the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault main game and the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Spearhead and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Breakthrough expansion packs.

What it’s like

Gritty, washed-out WWII palette: drab olive greens, mud browns and smoky grey skies, with muzzle flashes and explosions punching bright orange through overcast European towns, bombed-out churchyards and rain-slicked fields. The camera sits low and close behind the rifle, with shaky handheld sway that tightens during firefights and settles into still, tense pauses between objectives. The soundtrack is restrained, with brooding strings and drums swelling at key moments, while gunfire, shouted orders and distant artillery fill the space around it. Pacing is linear and punchy, with scripted set pieces that build pressure and then release it. Violence is frequent and intense: gunfights with soldiers and some wounded bodies, plus explosions and wartime brutality, but no gore beyond a few stark moments. It is a tense, earnest, historically flavoured war experience for players who enjoy cinematic single-player shooters and want a grounded, sombre WWII atmosphere, with a multiplayer mode included.
