The story

An aspiring actress in a small town in Rajasthan agrees to bear a child for a visiting couple seeking a surrogate mother, but her experience takes an unexpected turn when they refuse to have the child anymore.

What it’s like

Bright, sun-warmed colour dominates: saturated saris and marigold-yellow walls against dusty Rajasthani streets, with daylight that feels hot and open and interiors lit by soft, unhurried lamplight. The camera stays close and conversational, often following characters through crowded rooms or lingering on faces during small comic beats, and the score is a lively blend of Bollywood pop and folk-tinged melodies that gives the film a festive pulse. Its vibe is bright and wry with an undertow of melancholy, the kind of film that suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a comfort watch, or company on a long evening. The pacing is brisk and sociable, moving easily between broad humour and quieter, more pointed scenes about money, dignity and what a body is worth. The emotional arc follows a young woman with big ambitions who finds her hopes tangled in someone else's plans, and the mood stays generous even when it turns sharp. Intensity is low: there is no gore and no graphic violence, only some sexual innuendo, mild crude jokes and moments of emotional distress that land gently. It is for viewers who want warm comedy with real heart and a social conscience, without anything harsh.
