The story

Son Hae-yeong seeks out a fake wedding with her neighbourhood convenience store employee, Kim Ji-uk, to avoid missing out on a promotion.

What it’s like

Bright, everyday comedy-drama with a warm, low-stakes romantic tone, set in a neighbourhood of ordinary streets and small shopfronts where a convenience store becomes a regular meeting point. The mood is light and teasing, with the sharp bickering of enemies-to-lovers giving way to a slow, affectionate pull. A contract arrangement, a pretend marriage, and an age gap between the leads supply most of the comedy and the emotional tension, while the foster-sibling thread adds a quieter undercurrent of family. The pacing suits easy weeknight viewing or a comfort binge, the kind of show you can drop in and out of without losing the thread. Expect romantic and comic situations rather than danger: no graphic violence, gore, or dread, and any intimacy stays within the range of a mainstream Korean romcom. It is for viewers who want a playful, heartfelt romance with a bit of awkward humour, who enjoy the "we have to pretend" setup and the gradual shift from rivalry to genuine warmth, and who like their romance grounded in ordinary city life rather than fantasy or high drama.
