The story
After falling head over hooves in love with Giselle, Elliot's road to the altar takes a slight detour when Mr. Weenie is kidnapped by a group of pampered pets determined to return him to his owners.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated CGI in the flat, sunny palette of a family-animation direct-to-video sequel: lush green forest clearings, sunlit meadows, and cartoonish city-park backdrops that look clean and glossy rather than textured. The camera moves briskly with quick cuts and broad, readable staging, and the sound is a steady stream of gags, slapstick sound effects, and bouncy, upbeat pop-orchestral cues with few quiet pauses. Its vibe is light, breezy, and easygoing, a bit goofy and loud, suited to a Saturday afternoon with kids, a relaxed family movie night, or something easy to half-watch while folding laundry. Pacing is brisk and episodic, the emotional register is warm and silly, and the central arc is a bumbling, lovesick buck and his scruffy band of woodland friends rallying to help a dachshund get home, with the romance and friendship themes kept simple and sweet. Intensity is mild: comic peril and cartoon slapstick, some chases and pratfalls, nothing gory or frightening, with no sexual content. It is for families with young children, and for anyone who wants gentle, undemanding, good-natured animated comedy.
