The story
Path of Exile 2 is a next generation Action RPG created by Grinding Gear Games. Set years after the original Path of Exile, you will return to the dark world of Wraeclast and seek to end the corruption that is spreading. Path of Exile 2 is a free-to-play online multiplayer game with co-op for up to six players.
What it’s like
Dense, dark-fantasy isometric action with grim, sepia-drenched landscapes: crumbling ruins, mist-choked swamps, catacombs lit by torch and sickly green corruption glow, and a palette of rust, bone and ember that turns each zone into a moody, oppressive place. The camera sits high and fixed, so the screen fills with skeletal monsters, sprays of sparks and ground-tearing skill effects, while the soundtrack swells with low brass and choral drones that drop away into eerie ambient quiet between fights. Combat is fast, crunchy and percussive, with heavy hits, screen-filling particle bursts and a constant rattle of loot drops that gives each session a restless, compulsive rhythm. Tone is bleak and gritty rather than gory-for-shock: violence is frequent and stylised, with bloody impacts and dismemberment, but there is no sexual content and the horror stays atmospheric. Sessions run from quick skirmishes to long grinding runs, suiting a late evening alone, a weekend of co-op with friends, or background noise during a long build session. It suits players who want deep character customisation, relentless combat, and a grim, unsettling world to dig into together.
