The story

Set seven years after the events of the first film, it follows the return of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who is attempting to take down a seemingly benevolent politician.

What it’s like

A tense, procedural crime thriller with a sequel's settled confidence, built around a bureaucrat's slow pursuit of a powerful man who looks respectable from the outside. The mood sits in the gap between public charm and private rot, so it suits a focused evening when you want patient investigation, rising pressure, and the quiet satisfaction of watching officials and fixers circle each other. Pacing is methodical rather than frantic, with the drama coming from conversations, paperwork, and tightening pressure more than from set-piece chases. Its emotional register is wry and wary, and its central figure is a stubborn, principled man who keeps pushing against institutions that would prefer he stop. Expect crime and political menace throughout; the violence and cruelty are likely to be present but not the focus. It is aimed at viewers who enjoy grounded corruption stories and morally clear protagonists working against the odds.
