The story

Realm of Ink is an Ink-style action Roguelite game. You, the heroine, unexpectedly discover that you are just a fictional character within the short story collection Realm of Ink when hunting the Fox. Only by defeating the mysterious Book Spirit can you be liberated from the realm.

What it’s like

Ink-wash artwork in a colorful 2D style, with brushy, flowing line work that suits a storybook world of folklore and fantasy. The vibe is playful and fast, with an undercurrent of curiosity about what is real, and it fits an evening of focused play or a short session when you want something engaging without a long commitment. Combat is the core rhythm: a hack-and-slash action loop with roguelite runs, so each attempt ends in a retry that carries you into the next one, with the pace set by quick strikes and dodges rather than slow exploration. The story is delivered through the framing of the world itself, and the emotional register leans toward wry, self-aware adventure, following a heroine who learns she is a character and pushes against that discovery. Intensity is stylised action rather than horror, with combat that is energetic and repetitive by design; its gore and violence levels are not something this description can confirm. It suits players who enjoy roguelite persistence, fantasy settings, and story-driven action on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S, especially those drawn to inventive, illustrated worlds.
