The story
When one of a group of friends downloads the mysterious Red Rose app, plans change. What starts innocently as a game of admiration rapidly descends into something much darker.
What it’s like
Dark, unsettled teen drama with a cold, nocturnal mood: the sense of a friendship group whose easy late-night closeness curdles under a phone screen that keeps glowing when it shouldn't. The vibe is grim and mysterious, with teenage angst pressing on every scene and a creeping feeling that someone is watching. Pacing builds steadily, with the tension tightening as an investigation pulls at old loyalties and secrets. Emotionally it stays heavy and anxious rather than cathartic, and the arcs follow young people who are out of their depth, guilty, frightened, and drawn to each other in ways that feel dangerous. Intensity is high: suicide, death, murder, and direct threats all drive the story, and the darkness lands through dread and consequence more than spectacle. This is not gentle viewing. It suits viewers who want a serious, suspenseful thriller about technology, friendship, and the damage of a secret, and who are comfortable with bleak subject matter and emotionally weighty teen characters.
