The story

A low-ranking thug is entrusted by his boss to dispose of a gun that killed corrupt cops, but things spiral out of control when the gun ends up in wrong hands.

What it’s like

Gritty, sweat-slicked night-time Newark-style city, shot in hard tungsten and sodium-orange streetlight, with crushed blacks, handheld camera that lurches and jitters through alleys, bars and cramped apartments, and a restless grainy texture that feels like a bruise you keep pressing. The sound is a pounding, mechanical score of synth pulses and distorted bass with sudden silences that land like a slammed door. Vibe: frantic, paranoid, sour-sweet dread. It suits a late-night, alone-with-the-lights-off watch when you want to be jolted rather than soothed. Pacing is relentless, escalating in rapid cuts, with little breathing room between scenes; the emotional arc follows a bruised, morally compromised man scrambling to protect a child he barely knows, while the adults around him grow more reckless and cruel. Intensity is high: frequent gunfire and bloody close-quarters violence, a broken finger, a child placed in peril, and disturbing sexual exploitation themes that are handled as threat rather than shown explicitly. Not gentle. For viewers who like unvarnished crime thrillers with raw, claustrophobic style and who can stomach abuse and brutality.
