The story

They're ordinary husband and wife realtors until she undergoes a dramatic change that sends them down a road of death and destruction. In a good way.

What it’s like

Bright, sun-saturated Southern California suburbia, all pastel stucco, cul-de-sac lawns and flat midday light, with the gore played as cheerfully as a sitcom. The camera stays in bright, tidy domestic spaces, with brisk single-camera cutting, quick punchlines and the occasional blunt splash of red against all that cream and blue. Its vibe is sunny deadpan, cheerfully macabre and warm underneath. It suits a lazy weekend binge, a comfort watch with friends, or a late-night episode when you want to laugh at something grotesque without dread. Pacing is brisk and episodic, the register light and irreverent, and the central couple's arc is a marriage stretched and then steadied by an absurd crisis, a husband and wife learning to be a team again. Violence and gore are frequent and bloody, with cannibalism, dismemberment and corpses handled for comic effect, plus crude sexual humour and profanity. It lands as dark comedy rather than horror, so the shocks are jokes. It is for viewers who like gross-out absurdity with heart and want a bright, funny show that does not take its horror seriously.
