The story

Seven: The Days Long Gone is an open-world, isometric action role-playing game, in which you play as Teriel, a master thief sent on a mission that will shake the foundations of the Vetrall Empire. Free roam across the vibrant prison island of Peh, and choose whether to help or exploit its many citizens.

What it’s like

Isometric views of a cramped, humid island prison, rendered in saturated colour and busy hand-painted-looking environments, give this game a crowded, sun-warmed look. Its vibe sits somewhere between grimy adventure and sly heist, the kind of thing to pick up for an evening of wandering alleys, sneaking past guards and stealing from market stalls. The soundtrack leans on atmospheric strings and percussive combat hits, with the rhythm of the day shaped by open-ended exploration rather than set pieces. Combat is frequent and visceral, with blades and quick melee exchanges that can turn bloody, though the blood reads more as stylised action than horror. Tone stays brisk and playful at its core, dipping into harsher, cynical moments as Teriel's choices push her toward helping or exploiting the people around her. Its characters are morally grey and their arcs shift with each decision, so the emotional register is wry and opportunistic more than tender. Fans of stealth-heavy RPGs and open-world wandering with light sci-fi grit will find the most here; those seeking something gentle or non-violent should look elsewhere.
