The story

Divinity Original Sin: Enhanced Edition Edition is a much lauded Role-Playing-Game that blends deep customization and humor with dynamic turn based combat. Either in online co-op, split-screen co-op on your TV, or even alone, take advantage of a classless RPG system to create your heroes and conquer the evils of Rivellon! Embark upon a journey with up to three companions as you bend the very fabric of time, where what seems like the case of a simple murder unravels into hours of quests facing fiendish foes, magical polymorphs, and dastardly bosses. As a Source Hunter, master the elements and use the environment to your advantage in dynamic combats mixing weather and magic to explode, poison, electrify, freeze and burn your enemies!

What it’s like

Painted isometric landscapes of moss-green forests, damp stone dungeons and sunlit villages, with spell effects that bloom in bright, readable colour. Oil spreads across a floor and catches fire, rain turns a battlefield to slick mud, and every tactical turn has a satisfying visual payoff. The soundtrack is warm orchestral fantasy that eases into quiet ambience when you explore, and the voice acting and dialogue are wry, playful and often very funny. The vibe is cosy-adventurous with a comic streak: a tabletop-like fantasy that rewards patience and tinkering on a long evening or a weekend with nothing planned. Pacing is deliberate. Each battle is a puzzle you solve turn by turn, and exploration and dialogue fill the gaps between fights. The emotional register stays light and curious, with companions who are more eccentric than tragic and a story that becomes gradually stranger. Intensity is moderate: frequent fantasy combat against skeletons, demons and beasts, with some grisly corpses and undead imagery but little gore that lingers, and no sexual content of note. It suits players who love deep character building, clever systems and tactical problem-solving, and who enjoy humour alongside their strategy.
