The story
It's been five long years since your mysterious disappearance from the skate scene, and much has changed in the wake of "the disaster-too-gnarly-to-be-named." The massive devastation left large swaths of San Vanelona completely destroyed. After the mass evacuation, one company, Mongocorp, won the bid to rebuild New San Vanelona and their zealous protection of their private property has put a damper on the once thriving skate population. Your mission is to rebuild your career and revive the New San Van skate scene. To help you get the job done, you'll have double the tricks and the new ability to get off your board to move stuff and create the sickest lines. There's even a crew of locals you can call on to help take care of business. Skate 2--it's time to take back the city ... one spot at a time.
What it’s like
Bright, sun-washed daylight over a ruined-then-rebuilt seaside city, with long sweeping views of rooftops, concrete plazas and palm-lined boulevards that make the world feel wide and open to wander. The palette leans on warm concrete, pale blue skies and sudden splashes of graffiti colour, and the camera hangs close behind your skater so every drop, grind and slide reads with physical weight. Sound is a loose blend of hip-hop and rock tracks with the clatter of wheels on rail, the thud of a landing and the crowd-noise rise of a fresh replay. The mood is breezy and playful with a restless edge, a sense of reclaiming something overlooked, and the pace is self-directed: you can drift through the map for hours, chasing challenges, filming lines and tinkering with a skate park you built yourself. Violence is absent; the stakes are bruised knees and failed tricks, with the occasional comic wipeout. It suits a lazy afternoon, a long weekend session or a stretch of background play with headphones on. It is for people who love the feel of momentum, creative flow and playful exploration more than tight narrative or challenge.
