The story

May the farce be with you! Get ready for a trek through time with everybody's favorite intergalactic sanitation engineer and freelance hero, Roger Wilco. In their latest spaced-out space opera, the Two Guys From Andomeda take on science fiction (and just about everything else!) is a spoofy sendup that will leave you laughing. Roger Wilco embarks on a topsy-turvy trip through space and time in this fourth chapter in the award-winning Space Quest series, Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers. From a nostalgic look at his past in Space Quest I to a terrifying visit to the future of Space Quest XII, Roger's on the run again. And hot on his ion trail are the Sequel Police, deadly crosstime assassins who are out to put an end to Roger and all of his Space Quest nonsense once and for all. Once again it's up to Roger Wilco to save his future- or is that his past?- of the Space Quest series, and keep the universe safe for fair play, bad jokes, and lots more Space Quest Games.

What it’s like

Bright, cartoonish VGA pixel art in saturated primary colors, with hand-painted backdrops of sterile corridors, alien bars, and starfields that look like they were drawn for a Saturday-morning cartoon. The sound is chiptune-era synth, bleeps and bloops from a 1991 score, with the occasional sudden sting for a joke. Its vibe is goofy, self-aware, and cheerfully cheeky, a sci-fi sendup that winks at the player and at its own genre. Play is slow and methodical: you click through rooms, collect odd objects, and poke at puzzles at your own pace, with a few arcade-style minigames breaking up the walking and talking. It suits a lazy afternoon, a comfort replay, or an evening when you want to laugh at small jokes rather than be tested. The intensity is mild: cartoon peril, jokes about death, and frequent deaths that reset you with a smirk, with no gore and only light innuendo and crossdressing gags. The emotional register is warm and silly, and the hero's bumbling, easygoing arc stays light throughout. It is for players who enjoy old-school adventure games, pop-culture winks, and humor that doesn't take itself seriously.
