The story

A year after the Miles County massacre, Art the Clown is resurrected by a sinister entity. Art returns home, where he must hunt down and destroy teenage Sienna and her younger brother Jonathan on Halloween. As the body count rises, the siblings fight to stay alive while uncovering the true nature of Art's evil intent.

What it’s like

Grimy, saturated night photography, with snowy suburban streets and porches lit in sickly sodium orange and the hard white beam of a flashlight, all in a slightly blown-out digital texture that makes the blood look almost too bright. Long stretches of silence build in dim, cluttered rooms, broken by sudden stingers and a pulsing synth-and-strings score that swells over stalking shots. The mood is grim, macabre, and mean-spirited Halloween fun. Once the killing starts the pacing is relentless, with set pieces that linger on physical damage through practical effects and unflinching close-ups. Intensity is very high: extreme, graphic gore, prolonged cruelty, sexual menace and humiliation, and constant dread rather than only jump scares. Its teenage siblings are scrappy and stubborn, and their arc is one of surviving through escalating horror. Suits a lights-off late-night horror marathon or a Halloween viewing with a strong stomach, for people who want splatter-heavy slasher carnage and nothing gentle.
