The story

Tired of the small-time grind, three Marseille cops get a chance to bust a major drug network. But lines blur when a key informant makes a big ask.

What it’s like

Gritty, sun-bleached Marseille: concrete housing blocks under harsh Mediterranean daylight, sodium-orange night streets, and the grey interiors of unmarked cars and stakeout flats where the air feels stale and close. The camera stays tight and restless, handheld in the dense estates and surveillance-style in the long tense waits, with a hard, desaturated grade that pushes the blues and ochres toward dirt. The score pulses with low synth throbs and taut drum patterns that rise into anxious bursts, then drop away to rough ambient hum. Vibe: sweaty, tense, morally murky, the kind of unease you feel sitting in a parked car at 3 a.m. Its pacing is brisk and procedural, built around planning, tailing and sudden flare-ups, and the emotional register stays grim and wary. Three friends and colleagues who once shared a sense of purpose gradually see their loyalty and ethics strain under pressure. Violence is frequent and sharp: shootouts, police brutality and a few brutal beatings, with blood on the pavement and real physical danger, though little lingering gore. It suits viewers who want a hard-edged, character-driven crime thriller with a strong sense of place, and it is not a gentle watch.
