The story
A woman threatens to leave her husband unless he installs a toilet in their home. To win back her love and respect, he heads out on a journey to fight against the backward society.
What it’s like
Bright, sun-washed village daylight and dusty lanes give this Hindi comedy-drama a warm, open-air look, with plenty of colourful saris, rural courtyards and bustling market streets framed in wide, lively compositions. The camera stays fairly straightforward and brisk, favouring medium shots and playful cutaways over moody stylisation, and the score leans on upbeat Bollywood-style songs and jaunty comic underscoring. The vibe is light, cheeky and earnest: a feel-good comedy with a social conscience, the kind of thing to put on for a lazy weekend afternoon or a family movie night. Its pace is brisk, with broad humour and sentimental beats that build toward a rousing, crowd-pleasing finale; the central romance between the married couple is affectionate and teasing rather than steamy. Intensity is low: there is no real violence or gore, and the tension is mostly social, around village attitudes and open defecation, handled with gentle satire and some lectures. Expect mild crude jokes and innuendo, but nothing harrowing. It suits viewers who want a warm, humorous story with a clear message about dignity, family and everyday inequality, and who enjoy big-hearted Bollywood entertainment.
