What it’s like
Painted, hand-animated 2D art gives this one a storybook warmth: lush fields, sun-dappled ruins and bright town squares in soft, saturated colour, with sprites that move with real weight and flourish. The overworld camera drifts across a map of greens, golds and dusky purples, while the orchestral score, tender with brass swells, carries the scenes. It suits a long unhurried evening, a comfortable weekend session, or short bursts with a cup of tea. The pacing is measured and strategic: you plan formations, watch elaborate but mostly bloodless attacks play out, and gradually build an army whose members each bring their own personality.
