The story

A young Spanish woman who has newly moved to Berlin finds her flirtation with a local guy turn potentially deadly as their night out with his friends reveals a dangerous secret.

What it’s like

Restless handheld intimacy in one unbroken take, the camera hugging faces through Berlin's pre-dawn streets, U-Bahn platforms, rooftops and a deserted bank as the night slides from giddy to frantic. The palette is cold and nocturnal: sodium and neon glow, fluorescent interiors, the blue-grey of early light creeping over the city, and the grain of a digital image pushed into near-darkness without ever going soft. Sound is diegetic and urgent, with thumping club bass, footsteps echoing on concrete, sirens far off, and a piano motif that surfaces like a held breath. The vibe is electric and uneasy, a romance that turns into a pressure-cooker thriller, with long stretches of real-time tension punctuated by sudden bursts of violence, including a gunshot wound and brief but brutal confrontations that land with physical weight. It suits a late night alone when you want to feel fully inside the moment. Pacing is relentless and breathless, and the emotional arc follows a young woman who, in a single night, is pulled from loneliness into loyalty, fear and an unexpected bond. For people who want a tense, immersive, genre-bending ride and can handle sudden danger and gunfire.
