The story

Viewfinder is a puzzle game where you can reshape the world around you by taking photos with an instant camera.

What it’s like

Muted, slightly surreal spaces in pale daylight, where a flat instant-camera print becomes a solid tool: a photograph pinned to a wall can snap out into a ledge, a bench or a stretch of path, so the world rearranges around each frame. The framing of the viewfinder does much of the visual work, with clean geometry and a restrained, almost diagrammatic palette. Sound is sparse, built on soft ambient textures, a calm narrator's voice and long quiet stretches broken only by the click and whir of the shutter. Physics-driven experimentation keeps the rhythm thoughtful rather than frantic: you pause, look, frame, test and watch things settle into place. The emotional register is curious and wistful, with a gentle melancholy about memory and place that unfolds as the lone protagonist pieces her surroundings back together. Intensity is low, with no combat, no gore and no real danger, since a failed attempt simply means trying again, though the abstract, dreamlike spaces carry a faint unease. It suits a slow evening alone or a puzzle session where observation matters more than reflexes, and it is for players who enjoy games about looking closely and working things out at their own pace.
