What it’s like
Dim, grimy corridors lit by flickering sodium lamps, pale emergency strips and the cold blue glow of motion trackers, all rendered with a retro-futurist grime that feels like 1979's industrial sci-fi reimagined through a 1985 CRT. Sound does much of the work: the groan and tick of a station's ribs, distant hydraulics, and the sudden hush before a metallic scrape tells you the Alien is close. Vibe: tense, claustrophobic, sun-starved dread, best played alone in the dark with headphones on. Pacing is slow and deliberate, with long stretches of hiding, scavenging and creeping through vents punctuated by bursts of panic when the creature finds you. Intensity is high: relentless fear and a constant threat of death, with brief, brutal deaths by attack and some grim imagery of injured and murdered people, but no gore-heavy spectacle and no sexual content. Amanda's arc is one of desperate resourcefulness against overwhelming odds. It suits players who want survival horror that prizes patience, sound awareness and quiet nerve over jump-scare volume.
