The story

Return to the forest and join Bambi as he reunites with his father, The Great Prince, who must now raise the young fawn on his own. But in the adventure of a lifetime, the proud parent discovers there is much he can learn from his spirited young son.

What it’s like

Soft, hand-painted watercolour forest in the Disney house style, with dappled green light through canopy, misty dawn meadows and warm amber sunsets that give the woods a gentle, storybook glow. The palette leans on earthy browns, mossy greens and pale blue skies, and the camera settles into calm, open framings of clearings and riverbanks rather than restless motion. The sound is mostly birdsong, rustling leaves and a soft orchestral score with pastoral strings and a tender theme that returns when father and son bond. Its vibe is warm, wholesome and nostalgic, a cozy Sunday-afternoon watch or a comfort rewatch with a child. The pacing is easy and episodic, with light comic beats and a gentle emotional thread about a proud, reserved father learning patience and the joys of parenting a restless fawn. Intensity is very low: some mild peril, a few scares involving predators and a brief chase, but no gore and little real threat, and the grief that colours the sequel is handled softly. It suits families with young children and anyone wanting something gentle, sweet and low-stakes.
