What it’s like
Warm, painterly fantasy with saturated greens, amber torchlight and bright moonlit blues, rendered in an isometric view that lets you survey every battlefield like a tabletop map. Fog drifts over ruined temples and wet forest paths, and the sound is full of rain, crackling fires, chanting, and a sweeping orchestral score that swells during fights and drops to quiet strings when the party rests. Combat is slow and deliberate: turns are planned with care, spells interact with the terrain (oil ignites, water conducts lightning, ice holds a corpse in place), so fights feel like puzzles you solve with a grin. The vibe is witty and curious, with a sly, bookish humour sitting alongside a creeping sense of cosmic dread. Pacing is unhurried, with long conversations, side wanderings and sudden fights that can be brutal, including fire, blood, and sharp violence, though it stays cartoonish rather than grim. Companion arcs trace guarded strangers slowly earning trust, and the tension of a co-op table where one player may become a god gives it a playful edge.
