The story

The Blind Man has been hiding out for several years in an isolated cabin and has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a devastating house fire. Their quiet life together is shattered when a group of criminals kidnap the girl, forcing the Blind Man to leave his safe haven to save her.

What it’s like

Cold, dim woodland and rural night, shot with the grain and murk of a thriller that lives in shadow: torchlight beams cutting through black, sodden forest, and the claustrophobic gloom of a farmhouse interior where a single lamp is the only warmth. The sound design does much of the work, with footsteps on creaking boards, the rasp of breath, and sudden silence that the film uses as a weapon, backed by a low, pulsing score that swells into brief, sharp stings. The pacing is tense and relentless once the abduction begins, with the middle stretch built on prolonged cat-and-mouse sequences and a final act that turns into a brutal, close-quarters chase. Its emotional core is a gruff, isolated guardian who will do anything to reclaim the child he has raised, and the arc hinges on his grim resolve rather than any sentimentality. Intensity is high: frequent violence, gunfire, and bloody injuries, with some gore and a constant sense of menace, though little sexual content. This suits viewers who want a tight, punishing home-invasion thriller on a late night alone, and it is best for those who can handle sustained brutality.
