The story

Dragon Age: Inquisition - Trespasser is a post-game DLC that concludes the main storyline, taking place after the defeat of Corypheus and the closing of the Breach. Players guide the Inquisitor through a final mission that addresses the fate of the Inquisition while racing to stop a new threat to Thedas. The expansion connects to the origins of the main game's conflict and sets up future narrative directions for the series.

What it’s like

Cold stone halls, torchlit war rooms and wind-scoured mountain passes give this expansion the grey-gold palette of late medieval fantasy, with the Fade's bruised violet glow cutting through the browns and slate blues of Thedas. The camera stays close to the Inquisitor in third person, lingering on armour, banners and tired faces during quiet conversations at the Inquisition's keep, then pulling wide over ruined vistas when the fighting starts. Music swells with orchestral strings and choral chant during big set pieces and drops to sparse, wistful piano between them. The mood is elegiac and weighty, a last-chapter sense of endings and responsibility rather than pure spectacle. Combat is frequent and fairly brutal, with sword and magic clashing against demons and enemy soldiers; blood appears in hits but gore stays restrained, and some scenes carry intense peril and dread. It suits a long evening with the controller, players who have followed the saga and want its emotional close, and fans who enjoy tactical action RPGs with a melancholic, reflective streak.
