What it’s like

Neon signs bleed red and teal across rain-slick slum alleys, while the plate-stacked towers of Midgar loom in smoggy amber dusk, and the sterile white corridors of corporate headquarters offer a sharp contrast. The camera follows a fast, acrobatic ninja through rooftops and ventilation shafts, with bright sparks from shuriken and materia flashes punctuating the grime. The soundtrack mixes orchestral arrangements of familiar themes with percussive, guitar-edged battle music, and the quieter moments are filled with ambient city hum. The vibe is mischievous and kinetic, with a streak of wry humour undercutting a grimy, anti-corporate edge. It suits an evening of focused play, a weekend of button-mashing action after a long week, or a return visit to a familiar world. Violence is stylised and cartoonish, with no gore and little lingering cruelty, though the setting's themes of exploitation remain. Pacing is brisk and combat-driven, with short story beats between fights. It's for players who want flashy, playful action with a bit of bite.
