The story
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an enhanced and expanded version of Final Fantasy VII Remake that features a new episode starring Yuffie and introduces an exhilarating new story arc with numerous gameplay additions for players to enjoy.
What it’s like
Rain-streaked neon over the grimy slums of Midgar, with sickly green Mako glow spilling across wet streets and rusted industrial scaffolding, sets the look, and the lighting shifts between warm sodium interiors and cold corporate white in the Shinra towers. Camera work is cinematic and mobile, swooping around battles and lingering on faces in tight close-ups, while the score swells from quiet piano into thunderous orchestral strings. Combat is fast and stylish, with bursts of sparks and sword arcs, and the pacing alternates between frantic set pieces and long, talky stretches in dim bars and cramped apartments. The mood is melancholic and restless, a city-bound unease with flashes of playful humour, and the new Yuffie episode brings a brighter, bouncier energy that cuts against the heavier tone. Violence is frequent and stylised: sword combat, explosions and monster fights, with death and grief handled seriously but little gore. It suits a long evening alone with the controller, or a return visit for anyone who loves big cinematic spectacle and character-driven stories about a group fighting a faceless corporation.
