The story

In Gloam, the player embodies a small candle which must in order to survive, steal light from other players. The confrontation is done via mini-games of logic and speed. The last of the 10 participants to still have the light wins.

What it’s like

Soft, sputtering candlelight against near-total darkness: the whole game is built around a single warm flame pushing into black voids, with glowing wisps, pale stone and drifting motes rendered in a clean, minimal hand-drawn style. Colour is sparse, mostly ember oranges and cool blue-violet shadows, so each arena reads at a glance. Sound stays light and unobtrusive, with gentle chimes, soft flickers and brief bright stingers when a duel resolves. Matches move at a brisk, arcade-like clip, but the duels themselves are quick logic and speed puzzles that reward calm focus more than panic, and the tension comes from watching the flame dim as the field thins. Its vibe is quietly tense and playful, a little eerie without being frightening, with no violence or gore; conflict is abstract and resolves in glowing light. It suits a short sitting on a laptop or a wind-down session with friends, and it's for players who enjoy compact puzzle-battle competition, lightly competitive arcade rounds, and a mood that feels more whimsical than menacing.
