The story
When a reclusive survivalist and his daughter rescue a mysterious, wounded woman from a river, they become entangled in a deadly web of violence and revenge, forcing them to confront a brutal criminal to survive.
What it’s like
Taut, pressure-driven action-thriller energy, with a grounded survivalist's wariness at its center. A lone father and his teenage daughter pull a stranger out of a river and get dragged into a revenge plot, so the story runs on escalating threat and the need to get through it alive. Expect real violence, and the synopsis describes it as brutal, so this is not gentle viewing. The emotional register sits between hard-edged and familial, with the father-daughter bond providing the drama beneath the chase and confrontation. It suits a focused evening when you want momentum and stakes, rather than a relaxed background watch. Audiences who enjoy wilderness-set survival stories, Mel Gibson's gruff, practical screen persona, and thrillers where ordinary people are forced into violent conflict will find the most to hold onto.
