The story

Experience the Game of the Year Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man, which includes the full game, plus Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps complete DLC story arc content. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of Marvel’s New York rest upon his shoulders.

What it’s like

Sunlit Manhattan blocks dissolve into dusk and then into electric night, with the city glowing in warm amber and cool neon as the camera swings you between skyscraper canyons. Swinging is the heart of the experience: the controls feel loose and weightless, the momentum builds through a sprawl of rooftops, and the soundtrack shifts from bright orchestral brass during chases to hushed, reflective strings when the streets go quiet. Dense in its fights and its side activities but generous with pauses, it rewards both a long evening of open-ended exploration and short bursts of web-slinging between errands. The tone is buoyant and sincere, with a warm, wry humour running through the rooftop banter, and the emotional throughline follows a seasoned hero stretched thin, juggling heroics with a difficult personal life and learning to hold both without losing his footing. Violence is stylised and punchy, with bone-crunching combat rendered as cartoonish spectacle, and there is no gore, though some villain storylines carry menace and grim stakes. It suits players who want an absorbing, good-natured open-world adventure with a strong sense of place, and fans of comic-book heroics who enjoy a character-driven story told at a comfortable, unhurried pace.
