The story

MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf continues the destruction, intense combat, and online play introduced by the first MechAssault game. Set in the 31st century, the game lets you encounter new experiences in the expansive BattleTech world. Choose from a variety of weapons and vehicles--from the stealthy Raptor mech to the mech-jacking BattleArmor--all equipped with different weapon configurations and artillery. Embark on the new single-player campaign, or test your teamwork skills in the online multiplayer arena.

What it’s like

Hard-edged sci-fi war with grimy, sun-bleached industrial palettes: rust-orange deserts, smoky city ruins, and bursts of white-hot explosions that bloom across the screen. Mechs loom in wide, dusty vistas, and the camera hangs close behind your machine so every stomp and heavy cannon shot feels physical through the controller. The soundtrack is driving percussion and blaring brass, layered with the clank of servos, roaring engines and radio chatter that gives the battlefield a busy, mechanical texture. The vibe is loud, gritty and boisterous, the kind of play that suits a Saturday afternoon or a LAN-party-style session with friends. Pacing is relentless: missions move from one set-piece explosion to the next, with the odd quieter stretch to slip a stealthy Raptor through enemy lines. Emotionally it stays on the surface, with a loner pilot's defiant arc sketched in briefings. Intensity is high: frequent mech-on-mech violence, large-scale destruction, and kills that scatter debris, but no gore on human characters and no sexual content. It suits fans of giant robots, vehicular carnage and competitive split-screen or online skirmishes.
