The story

Post Void is a hypnotic scramble of early first-person shooter design that values speed above all else. Keep your head full and reach the end; kill what you can to see it mend; get the high score or try again.

What it’s like

Hard-edged pixel graphics in saturated, clashing colours: hot pinks, acid greens and electric blues bleeding across procedurally assembled rooms, with the low-resolution fuzz of a 1990s CRT and a psychedelic surreality that warps the walls as you run. Sound is driven by a relentless, synthetic pulse of chiptune-tinged music, underlined by the crack of gunfire and the squelch of enemies dying, so the whole thing feels like a fever dream you can't wake from. Pacing is frantic and unforgiving: levels are short, fights come fast, and each death sends you straight back into a fresh, shuffled layout with no pause to breathe. Intensity is high in a stylised way: the violence is constant, bloody and cartoonishly abstract rather than realistic, and the flashing, shifting visuals can overwhelm. Tone is cheerfully manic and mean rather than tense or dark. It suits short, focused sessions when you want a loud, arcade-style challenge to chase a high score, and it's for players who enjoy old-school shooter reflexes, roguelike retries, and neon-drenched chaos.
