The story

Now re-mastered in High Definition are three classic Prince Of Persia titles, exclusively for the PS3. Digitally enhanced HD and 3D graphics heighten the experience of adventure and improve overall gameplay. Included are Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones all in HD.

Golden sandstone palaces, dusty ochre courtyards and deep blue shadow give the trilogy a warm, sun-baked look, with sand that spills, swirls and dissolves across the screen as the story's central motif. The camera follows the acrobat through long, sweeping chases over rooftops and along walls, and time-rewind effects ripple the image into a bluish blur. Warrior Within darkens the palette into grimy stone and stormy, hostile skies, while The Two Thrones returns to bright palace light and sudden shadow. The score mixes strings and percussion with Persian-flavoured melodies, and the Prince's wry, sometimes bantering voice cuts through the tension. Pacing alternates between frantic platforming and slower puzzle rooms, with a steady rhythm of fights and rewinds. Violence is frequent but stylised: sword combat, bloody but not lingering, monstrous enemies and some grim atmosphere, with no sexual content. It suits a long evening of play, a comfort replay, or a rainy weekend, and fits people who enjoy reflexive platforming, mythic adventure and a playful, self-aware hero.
