The story
When an ingénue's sudden popularity threatens to shove her out of the spotlight, a movie star uses black magic in an attempt to derail her career.
What it’s like
Dim, saturated Bollywood horror, with lamplit bedrooms and glossy hotel suites washed in deep reds, blues and sickly greens, and rain-streaked windows that frame the characters as if they were already trapped. Camera moves are sweeping and deliberate, with slow pushes into faces, sudden jump cuts to shadowed corners, and occasional handheld jolts when the supernatural breaks through. Sound leans on swelling orchestral strings, pulsing synth stingers and sudden silences before the scare, with song sequences that cut the tension with glossy, neon-tinged romance. The vibe is lurid and melodramatic, a mix of seductive glamour and creeping dread, suited to a Friday night with the lights off and friends who don't mind some shrieking. Pacing is brisk and genre-driven, with the tone tipping between sultry and cruel as rivalry turns into obsession. Violence is stylised and sometimes bloody, with jump scares and a few grisly moments, but no sustained gore. It is best for viewers who want a glamorous, theatrical horror with a steady drip of menace and a heavy dose of romance.
