The story
A sleazy film director's decision to shoot his latest erotic horror movie in a notorious haunted house angers the vengeful spirit of its past inhabitant.
What it’s like
Handheld, jittery digital footage with the washed-out, over-lit glare of cheap camcorders and phone screens, the frame often blown out by a flashlight or a harsh bedroom bulb, then dropping into murky greens and near-black when the power fails. Sound leans on sudden silences, creaking floorboards, and abrupt shrieking stings over a thin, pulsing score, so the dread arrives in jolts rather than building slowly. The house itself is the main location: stained walls, dust in the beam of a torch, doors that seem to close on their own. It is a Bollywood horror with a tongue-in-cheek sleaze running alongside the scares, with flashy lingerie-style scenes and suggestive dialogue that make it feel like a late-night dare. Pacing is brisk and erratic, with long stretches of banter broken by frantic chase-and-scream sequences. Violence is moderate, mostly threats, shadowy attacks and a few bloody moments, with some sexual content and frequent jump scares. It suits a loud, late-night watch with friends who enjoy trashy, unapologetically over-the-top possession horror rather than anyone after something subtle or gentle, for viewers who like found-footage chaos and camp.
